Fellow Rotarians:

Thursday February 27, 2008 - Speaker will be Paula Huntly, an author, will speak about Kosovo and Armenia.

  • Friday, Saturday, February 29-March 1, 2008, at Durango Mountain Resort, the 10th Annual Dave Spencer Ski Classic will be held to raise money for Adaptive Sports Association.  The High Noon Rotary is to date sponsoring one team with the additional generous support of Dick Sullivan.

  • There is available Rotary World Peace Scholarship, for a Masters Degree Program in the amount of $60k; an Ambassadorial Scholarship, $23.5k which will be abroad; and a Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship of $15k.  If you have someone who you feel might interested in these please contact Chip Lile now.

  • Attached please find a volunteer sign-up sheet for Monte Carlo Night.  It will be held on April 5, 2008, this year at the Durango Arts Center.  This is always a fun event and your help is greatly appreciated.  Please return sign-up information to Bill Cartwright.

  • Jim Mulkey, who recently retired as a local oral surgeon, has graciously donated his equipment to the club for further distribution to a needy club elsewhere.  Thank you Jim.

  • Niles Bruno reported that the LaPlata Youth Services is in need of more female volunteers.  If you are interested please contact him.

  • Redball was a great success as you know; in addition the ski race will be going National next year which should bring additional people to Durango and more ticket sales.  Thanks to all for their help on this event.

  • We gave the Library our donation of $25k which will provide for a small upstairs program room.  A plaque on the room will say High Noon Rotary; in the room will be displayed the Four-Way Test.

See you Thursday.
