Fellow Rotarians:

Thursday January 30, Dolf Kuss, former Olympian, teacher and local skier, will be our speaker.   Chip Lile, our esteemed President, was the first to have a meeting without a program.  Our afternoon was full of announcements, fines and happy dollars.   Since it ran the entire hour Mr. Dolf Kuss, former Olympian, teacher and local skier, will return this Thursday to be our speaker.

The Interact Club will be having a fundraiser at the Bank of The San Juans, Friday February 1, 2008, from 4 to 6 p.m. in celebration of Snowdown.  You can purchase an insulated travel mug for the very low price of $10.00 full of hot coffee or chocolate.  This will come in very handy for if the snow maiden has anything to do with it the parade will be white and cold this year.  So come on down, support the club and be warm for the parade.

Keep those Redball Express tickets coming in; Jill Carithers will be glad to collect them from you at each meeting.  Redball weekend is almost here; Saturday February 9, 2008. 4:08 p.m. at the Durango Mountain Resort.  Volunteers are still needed for all positions, especially for set up in the morning at 7:00 a.m. (bring a 9/16" wrench); sign up with Mark Prouty this Thursday if you can help.   Sign up for the ski race with Justin Osborne.  It runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and think of a great red costume that might just be appropriate for Valentines Day also.

Our newest honorary member is Mr. Al Harper; you may recognize him as the owner of our own Durango & Silverton Railroad.  He thanked our Club for their generous offer of helping the railroad erase their carbon footprint.

Thanks to the wonderful members who contributed so generously to the Scholarship fund by purchasing the donated Snowdown tickets.

See you Thursday.
