Fellow Rotarians:

This Thursday meeting will feature Dan Johnson, Chevron Oil VP - Oil in the Rockies, a joint presentation with the Kiwanis

The Redball Express tickets still need to be sold and turned in to Jill Carithers soon.   Redball is Saturday February 9, 2008. 4:08 p.m. at the Durango Mountain Resort.  Volunteers are still needed for all positions so please sign up with Mark Prouty this Thursday if you can help.

Our club has reached the 42% mark in support of LPEA's Green Power Program and our personal effort to erase the Durango/ Silverton Rio Grande Railroads carbon footprint.  Those of you who have already signed up noticed by your mailings this past week the cost has been reduced from $1.25/100 kWh block to $0.80/100 kWh.    So those who have not had the opportunity join the rest of the club, now is the time to contact Ray Pierotti at 382-7770, and let him know you are interested.   The Pagosa Springs Club has donated their Green Power to the train.

The Bill Gates Foundation has donated 100M matching funds to Rotary International for the eradication of polio throughout the rest of the World.   This equates to an additional $25 per person each year over the next three years, or a one time donation of $75, in addition to our regular donation to the Paul Harris Fund, to meet our districts portion of the matching funds.  Steve Govreau will handle the mechanics of setting this up for the club.

As we heard at last weeks meeting, if you have United Airline miles you would like to donate, Nancy Vanderwal will be handling how we can also utilize these for our Interact/Roteract students.  Please contact her if you would like to participate at 259-0649.

For those of you not present at last weeks meeting you missed out on a new fund raising opportunity.  If you accidentally forget to sign in you will happily contribute $1 to our ongoing funds.

Thanks.  This also helps our memory skills.

See you TOMORROW.
