Opening

Ward Holmes rang the bell and announced we would be “moving fast” today because of the shared program with Kiwanis.  All stood for the pledge.

Jan Measles had not yet arrived to give the Inspiration, so Dan Morgenstern stepped up and offered 6 words:  “Let There Be Peace On Earth.”

Joseph had a ‘rug burn’ on his face that resembled a black eye.  He was in history class, subject, French Revolution, and fell out of his chair.  He’s young, he will heal.  He also was pleased to announce that he celebrated his first Thanksgiving.   
 
Announcements 

Justin Osborn reminded everyone (for the last time) that Tim Sullivan will be donating all of the proceeds to Rotary from the New Years Eve party at the Diamond Circle Theater.  $25 per ticket includes appetizers and a cash bar. 

Justin also announced that Coldwell Banker’s Christmas party is Friday, December 15 from 7-9 PM at the Durango Arts Center.  $5 per person at the door benefits the new Durango Boys and Girls Club.  Wayne Bedor reminded everyone that the Russian accountants are coming to Durango in May 2007 and he is putting together a housing committee.  If interested in helping, call WayneTami Coddington recognized the Bell Ringers and announced that we beat Kiwanis Club (again) this year!  Melissa Caskey announced that $4,000 was raised at the Holiday party during the Interact Auction.  Angie Beach said there were several items that they did not get to that evening and they will be running an email auction.  The auction will consist of 3-bidding cycles and on the third cycle the item goes to the highest bidder.  More to come.  Ward thanked Mike Sandberg for serving as Auctioneer.

Mark Prouty announced that the Red Ball tickets would be handed out at the end of today’s meeting (in blocks of 10).  Individuals can do multiple purchases on one ticket, but more to come on the rules.  Please read carefully!    Ted Robson was strolling through the group with a bucket for donations for the program. 

Chip Lile distributed ballots for the 5 Club President candidates.  Candidates presented were:  Tami Coddington, Peter Marshall, Justin Osborn, Mark Prouty and Frank Valen.  Congratulations to all.  Each candidate spoke and the 4 male candidates all through their support to Tami.  Ward asked for a motion to elect Tami Coddington by acclamation.  Judy Heasley moved, Mike McGuire seconded and Tami is the new President-Elect of High Noon Rotary.  Congratulations Tami!

Ward announced that there will be meetings on both December 21 and December 28.  Program for December 21 are the lady barber shoppers.

was absent, so Mark Prouty took over.  Frank Valen was fined for throwing ice cubes at Mark at the Holiday Party.  Tom White and Bill Hermanson were fined for failure to buy breakfast for Mark – and the “two Mike’s (McGuire and Sandberg) were fined for leaving during Heather Sullivan’s show at the Holiday party (while she was singing!). Member Birthdays Tom Brossia and Steve Govreau.  Wedding Anniversaries:  Mark Donahue, Walt Nowotny (102 years?), Vern Swanson.

Happy DollarsMark Donahue was happy for the women at his table; Rick O’Block had to undergo emergency surgery (he is doing fine) and was very grateful for the car at the new Mercy hospital; Dick Sullivan was happy that our new President-Elect is a pheasant hunter; Sara Olson was happy to announce that she just obtained her business license for her consulting business.  Ward had the doors open for our joint program with Kiwanis Club:
