Opening

Steve Govreau opened the meeting and led us all in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a short inspirational quote.

Announcements

Steve Govreau stated that Pam Bowen had resigned. Ward Holmes needed members for the District Leadership Conference on April 22^nd. Niles Bruno had his red badge turned into blue by Bud Poe. Monte Carlo night specifics were shared with the members including some great prizes and silent auction items (April 15^th 6-10pm). Jeannie Wheeldon also gave a pitch for the members on the decorating committee for Monte Carlo Night.

Program

Today’s program was sponsored by the Colorado State Patrol and covered DUI and drinking while driving. Three rotary volunteers – Jan Measles, Dan Morgenstern, and Bill Cartwright, all volunteered to have a few drinks before the meeting and be the victims of the program. Mike McGuire shared some grim statistics about driving deaths and alcohol use in Colorado. Then troopers Mark Dold and Mike Bauer administered the standard roadside test to the three volunteers. It was both entertaining and educational. A great reminder to not drink and drive. All volunteers had rides home after the meeting.
