ROTARY GRAM   6/30/05 MEETING

 

 We drew inspiration from the great outdoors as we said our final pledge under the leadership of Mike McGuire

 

GUESTS:   Karren from the evening club/ Carol McGuire from the morning club / Jeff – history teacher from Bayfield high school / Nyles – visiting Rotarian joined us again, as did Steve Lipnick, recent resident and cardiologist / Sarah Olsen from local radio station / Linda Brossia

Manuel Pozo-Alonso’s brother was visiting from Spain.

 

 

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

  • Pancake breakfast july 4 Rotary park  7:00 – 10:30 – put on by the evening club.  Hope you all partook of the great pancake breakfast.
  • Roster updates were requested again by Bob Chaput
  • GOLF TOURNAMENT – is JULY 15… lunch there instead of at the Doubletree on that Friday.   Get your team and $$$ in to Jeff or Jennifer or Tim W. or Mike Kane.

 

 

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  President Mike McGuire had loving words to honor the club and board members as he closed his last meeting.  He donated 2 wheel chairs to start the THIRD container of chairs and made donations to Paul Harris for each board members.  All club members were honored as being special people and great leaders in the community. 

He made special mention of the following:

JILL WARK – for always being there – the power behind the president

JOHN BEEKMANN – for his tireless efforts to keep the financials in order

DAVE GANEVSKY – club service and programs

BILL CARTWRIGTH -  red ball

CHARLIE ALBERT – “mr international” – and the driving force behind 2 full containers of wheel chairs to Mexico + all the other international things he takes care of.

ANGIE BEACH – youth and interact – GREAT job!

TOM CHEATUM / SCOT MATHIS /MARK PROUTY – members at large – good ideas and guidance

JOHN MARSHALL / FRANK VALEN – Car expo extraordinaire

BOB CHAPUT – roster guy ! great job every year

CHIP LYLE – fabulous job with international youth exchange

CHESSA GILL – guidance as past president

 

Mike was given a LARGE packet of documents he failed to sign during his presidency. He was also given an official pardon all previous wrong doings and for knowing when NOT to play the pipes.  He was also awarded the “order of the coin” and presented his Paul Harris award.
