ROTARY GRAM

 

We had a stiring opening with 4 bag pipers entering and circling the room- Invocation was "Amazing Grace" done on the "pipes".  Wonderful!

 

There were numerous guests, including our returning Rotary Exchange student from New Zealand.

Jeannie Wheeldon is putting on a musical review at the Diamond Circle Theater to benefit childrens theater.

       DAte is FRIDAY 1/7/05   at 7:30... call 375 7135 to make reservations or get more info.  It will be a wonderful show

THey make great presents!!   Where else can you give a gift that could be worth $5,000  !!

Added benefit, the Rotarian who sells the most will get a special dinner for 2 :-)

 

Everyone agreed the HOliday party was a great success...kudos to those on that committee (i'm sorry i did not get all

their names )  Fun was had by all

 

Pam Bowen reported her son loves being in Sweden as a Rotary Exchange Student and it sounds like he doesn't want to come home!!

(Pam vetoed that!!)

 

Steve Govreau's son has been accepted as an exchange student for next year and got his "choice county" of France.... i remember when

      he was just a little guy and Steve would bring him to Rotary meetings...... Way to raise a future Rotarian!!!

  •         Wayne also had  birthday money to share and an extra happy happy dollar as his son will be coming home from the hospital soon. GOOD NEWS
  •         Ted has a clean bill of health ( and a great head of new hair ) - and contributed a happy dollar for that good news
  •         Mark Prouty was heralded as a great St. Nicholas at the holiday party.
  •         Bill Cartwright celebrates his 37 yr anniversary
  •         Walter celebrates his first grand child to be (in June)  Also, he suddenly remembered his anniversary  in 2 days !!!!
  •         Jill announced she is the campane manager for Ellen Roberts run for the 59th district state representative seat
  •         Don Freemyer is our newest Paul Harris Fellow

The Lottery pot is up to $243 and was not won by any one.

 

OUR NEXT MEETING IS 1/6/05

 

There was a great program about our very own Red Cross Chapter.  Did you know all the money donated here - stays here.  There is always a need for contributions and this community has been the recepient of lots of help in the past, most significantly during the Missionary Ridge Fire when over 700 volunteers assisted this area and over 4,800 meals were served to those affected by the fire.
