The speaker this day was Bill Master from Telluride. He spoke to the group about his political party A The Libertines.@ Bill stated that this party is the third largest in the country and that they currently have two hundred members holding public office. The party began in Colorado in nineteen seventy-one. Disgruntled Republicans suffering under the Reagan administration formed the group. Bill feels that we need to be proud to be an American. He noted that spies, such as the recent FBI case, do this for money, whereas those who spy for America in other countries do it because of the principals or philosophy that they disagree with. Jefferson defined the core ideals of the Libertine Party. The essence is that one must embrace liberty and take responsibility for their own actions. Bill feels that if we continue in our current path we are surrendering more and more of our personnel freedom to the government. Bill cited the IRS code and that no one knows the whole of the code. When one calls the IRS for advice and is given wrong information they are still responsible for all penalties and interest. The Party feels we should not be the Police Officers of the world. We should not send our sons and daughters into harms way unless there is a Declaration of War. Bill noted that the Libertine party feels that we have lost the war on drugs and that we fighting this war in ways that have proven unsuccessful. He stated that the use of Drugs and Alcohol should not be an excuse for criminal behavior. People need to take responsibility for their actions and pay the consequences of those actions. A solution proposed was the creation of legitimate drug dispensing clinics for those that choose to continue to do drugs. This action would stop the two billion dollar industry of illegal drugs and end drug gangs, stealing to support a habit and other criminal behavior. He stated that the Colorado Bureau of Investigation thought they had done well by keeping ninety convicted murders from purchasing guns. The question Bill raises is why are they on the street? A final example is the Law of Moses or the Ten Commandments. God said that Thou shall not steal.

ONE FINAL NOTE: If you have but one wish, let it be for an idea.
