Announcements

Services will be held on the 25th for the passing of Donna Bedor wife of Wayne Bedor.  They will be at St. Columba at 10:00 am.

 

Bill Cartwright announced the Monte Carlo Casino Night was another big hit.  Good news is that everyone had a blast.  Bad news is that proceeds were down around $3,000 from last year.  They would have been down by $3,500, but Bud Deering generously donated $500 to the proceeds!  Net looks like it will be around $8,000.  Steve Wheeldon was announced as the best dressed male, and Angie was the best dressed female.

 

Taste of Durango is looking for volunteers.  It will be held on Saturday May 20th.  If interested, please call Al Spungen at the Manna Soup Kitchen.  970-385-5095

 

Angie & Bank of the San Juans presented two Korean Sun trees.  They were auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Paul Harris Fund.

 

Board Meeting was held on Tuesday.

Mark Prouty announced that the Job Fair will be held on June 9th at the Fairgrounds.  $25 is the coste for a booth.  Revisions & Bylaws were approved by the Board.  Mike Matheson & Dave King are the new recruits for an Alternative Funding Committee.

 

Saturday the Nature Center will be having its annual Weed & Beer Fest.  It will be held from 9-3. Please see Rick Routh if you are interested in attending.

 

There will be a Health Fair at Escalante on Saturday from 9-12.  It’s FREE!

 

The Barbershoppers will be performing on June 9th.  Tickets range from $8 - $12.  Please see Niles if you are interested in attending their show.

 

Charlie Albert needs drivers on May 26th.  The Russian Accts need to get to the Alb airport.

Chandler fined Tim Walsworth & Jill Wark for B-Days.

He got the Jaworsky’s for their wedding anniversary.

He got Chip for his 6 year club anniversary.

 

Chip was also fined for his photo in the Herald.

Everyone that wasn’t wearing a Rotary pin was fined as well.

Program

Dave James with James Ranch provided a great program about ag.  He focused mostly on how healthy the soil is in the Animas Valley.  Because of this, all food consumed from humans is loaded with certain vitamins and minerals.

 

The FFA students spoke about their club and informed us the Cortez is hosting the state conference this year.
