Opening

Steve Govreau opened the meeting and led us all in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a short inspirational quote.

Announcements

Bill Cartwright presented a $7000 check to HNR from the Red Ball Express.  Bill also reminded members that the new fund-raisers, “Monte Carlo Night”, would be on Saturday April 15th from 6-10pm.  Steve Govreau stated that the 1st annual “Rotary Community Report” raised approximately $6000.

 

Sgt. of Arms

Mark Proudy read a list of Birthdays, and Anniversaries.  He then entertained all with a wonderful St. Patricks Day poem about the origins of corned beef and cabbage.  Niles gave some happy cash for his great ride-along with officer Mark Dold.

 

 

Program

Today’s program was about Fort Lewis College, and presented by FLC President Brad Bartel.  President Bartel said that his goal for FLC is to be the Best Liberal Arts College in the Western United States.  They would accomplish this by increasing: the degree programs by 5-7 new programs, grow enrollment by 4000 to 5000, increase community service requirements, increase fund raising, and improve the internal environment for the faculty (salaries).
