ROTARY GRAM   6/9/05 MEETING

 

 We met in the Durango Art Center for a nice change of pace.  If you went to the Doubletree -  pony up our $1.00. Our inspiration was some great western a- la- rotary music.

 

 ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

  • Golf Tournament is about 4 weeks away.   Get your team lined up now!  Many thanks to the hole sponsors who have all read committed to help this year.  For your non golfers, there will be a putting contest this year – great food, fun and prizes are planned.
  • The BOARD OF DIRECTORS meeting is this Tuesday 5:30 at Durango Office Suites.  In coming and out going board members should plan to attend.
  • There was an update on the Boys and Girls Club status.   There will be a facility in Ignacio and one in Durango next to the Rec Center in the old armory building.

Rotary heroes Wayne and Dean were given accolades for their assistance with this community wide project.

 Got a buck from all those members who went to the doubletree first before finding their way to DAC.

 

All Ironhorse bike riders were except from fines ………

 

Happy Dollars:  Dave G and Steve G won the theme and décor contest for “men who grill”.  Congrats you 2!

Don F has a new colt  /   Mike Kane pointed out we shouldn’t pass out our business – then got nailed by Patty for wearing his card on his shirt J   Dean B paid a happy buck for coming in 2nd place at the “men who grill’.  Melissa paid for some great advertising for her bank.  Justin’s wife has the summer off and he’s enjoying the hot meals J (we’ll check back on that in a few weeks)  Wayne paid for his club anniversary. 

 

On a sad note, John Marshall said his good byes – he will be leaving in July for the great west – he has sold his house and is taking a long trip with his bride until they find a new nest in California.  John… you are an awesome Rotarian….. we hope your NEW club will enjoy you as much as we have…

FUND RAISING:

 

Golf Tournament coming up 7/15 – the club will NOT MEET that week at the Double tree – every one show up for lunch at DALTON on that day.

 

### will be in on the Car Expo in the next couple of weeks… looks like we made some dough……. Thanks to the great organization of John, Frank, Angie and others. THANK everyone for showing up on the day of……… it was great to see a lot of blue shirts and happy hi noon rotary faces.

MEMBERSHIP:

 

Currently at 102 – 3 more to be added in June.   We also have 6 honorary members.

 

 

PROGRAM:

 

Club assembly.   We raised over 23K this year – and gave away 34K in projects + a lot of other good stuff too numerous to state here……… see mike or a board member if you want a complete listing.
