ROTARY GRAM   5/5/05 MEETING

 

We saluted the invisible flag and had words of inspiration from David G. (even though we were in the dungeon

  • We were all saddened by the passing of a wonderful Rotarian, George Littow.

  • GSE study team from Philippines really enjoyed their stay here.  Thanks to all you Rotarians who provided funds, homes, food etc.
  • Next Board meeting is 5/25/05 in Durango Office Suites
  • Wheel chair delivery in 2 weeks… there is still time to go…. Talk to President Mike if you are interested.
  • 5/15/05 take a kid fishing for a great and rewarding day.. talk to Brian Myers.
  • Fireside chat  in a week (I think that means 5/12) in the evening at Mike’s.  Please call him if you plan to attend
  • Tammy passed around a pledge sheet for the walk a thon for cancer.  (Relay for life)
  • Big Brother Big Sister breakfast 5/12 in the morning at the Double Tree

If you don’t know what ROTOPLAST is…. You better talk to Mark! 

Jan and Steve were the dual winners of losing cards…. But Jan redeemed herself by having a ROTARY emblem in her newspaper ad.

Frank had a great ROTARY emblem (2 of them) attached to his Del Taco newspaper insert.  Way to go you two!!

Great program on water in the South west…

 40% of the world does not have potable water…. ½ of what is lost is through evaporation.  Colorado is the head water state for 18 other downstream users.

By 2030 this area will have a 26% deficit of this precious commodity in this area…

so why are we building so many new homes???????????????
