ROTARY GRAM   3/3/05  Meeting

GUESTS:   We greeted numerous guests, including past president Pete Turner and his wife Lisa.  Also present was a soon to be Rotarian  - Dwight;  past Rotary exchange student Brenda; Mike Burns of Alpine Bank; Dot and Mandy, teachers of Spanish at HS.

 

 We were regiled with music by the “Kingman Trio”.. a musical group from Grand Junction Rotary… see more of them at RED BALL EXPRESS this Sunday.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • The club is sponsoring a ski team for the Dave Spencer Ski Classic.  All proceeds will benefit adaptive sports
  • Red Ball this Sunday  DMR  come help/ set up / tear down/ blow up balls/ watch the race/ listen to great music… have fun and fellowship!!!  The balls “run” at 4:05 pm
  • Fireside chat / board meeting for March SATURDAY 3/19  AT 3:00 PM will be held at esteemed president and first lady McGuires…. please email him at mikemcguire@durango.net to RSVP.!!!  An accurate head count is needed if you plan on attending.
  • There will be a Philipine GSE here in late May / Early June… see John Marshall if you want to take part in hosting this wonderful and educational Rotary event

Mark Prouty ably stepped in for Melissa ….  He found several neat ways to get money out of our wallets.  

No one won the card “pot”…. how much is up for grabs anyway????

PROGRAM:

 

Pete Turner told us about Colorado Trail, that winds 468 miles from Denver to Durango.  The power point slides looked great… snow/ rain and all.   Pete has been in the ‘guide ‘ business since 1999 and is a real expert.  The Colorado trail opened to hikers in 1987.
