Martin’s retirement party will be held at the CDOT building on West Hwy 160 1/21/05 (Friday) 4 – 6 pm…
all are welcome to come by and say farewell to this wonderful state
trooper and Rotarian.
- Assistant
Governor Jan Williams is working with all 3 clubs to coordinate followup efforts and help for the tsunami victims.
- The
100th year birthday (anniversary?) of ROTARY will be 2/23/05. A large ad will be place in the Durango
Herald by all 3 clubs.
- 2 skiiers, Dave G and Jay were caught on the slopes
without their Rotary coins.
- Ted
Robson picked the marked card from the deck and won some big money!

Plata Open Space Conservancy is holding its annual Snowdown

president Mike is looking for help on a SKI CLASSIC being held on 3/5/05. See him for details or if you would
like to help out.

- Rick O’Block had some words of wisdom for us again this
week.
- Howard
contributed $100 in celebration of his 67th birthday.
- Phil
Bryson anted up for buying out Brainstorm, and for the new building that
will be on the corner of 11th and Main.
- Tammy
paid a fine for her husband shaving his beard – and helped raise $1,300
for UNICEF tsunami relief …. (she will also have
a mini Rotarian soon…. Look for a birth announcement in next weeks Rotarygram)
- Jan
paid some happy dollars for her son’s promotion and the fact her mother
came through a neck operation ok.
- Sue’s
dad is better and now out of ICU

Karen L’Argent has resigned due to
her transfer to Taos
NM.
PROGRAM:
Part standup comedian, part historian, Beth Warren, the
Executive Director of KSUT reguiled us with stories
of the history of KSUT. She also asked
some tough Jeopardy questions about the stations programming… great prizes for
those winners.
Did you know that KSUT “ feel good
radio “ started 29 years ago and was a
10 watt station initially. Now it covers the world… literally you can tape into
KSUT sound stream from anywhere on the globe via internet.
