UPI and Outside Magazine.  He met his wife Cynthia, who works at Fort Lewis,

while backpacking.

Tom is involved with BB/BS and has found Durango to be a great community and

High Noon Rotary as a great way to serve. Welcome Tom!!

Continuing her 'This is your Life' theme, Chessa told us a bit about

herself.  She was born in FL and moved to CA at age 3.  She was raised in SoCal

and spent time in the small community of Ojai.

She attended UCDavis, earning a BS in Agriculture and animal physiology.

She taught high school and later, entered the insurance business, moving to DRO

in 1993.  At one point, she was in a seminary and in contrast to that, she

earned a 1st degree black belt in Taekwondo.  Our president has 2 children,

grand children, likes to travel, work in the garden, football and hiking.

All of here experience makes her an able and capable leader!!

The weekly ticket drawing had no winner, but some free Subway sandwich

coupons, courtesy of Steve Redding, are out there somewhere.

Our SAA's declared a fine moratorium due the work ahead on the committees

formed around the 4 avenues of service, with the exception of an errant cell

phone owner who shall go unnamed.

Chessa then announced the areas of the room for the gathering of current and

potential committee members in break out sessions.  Groups were formed for Club

Service, International Service, Vocational Service and Community Service.

Chessa plans break out sessions once a quarter.

Chessa thanked the members for their work in the sessions and brought the

meeting to a close.
