President Tom Galbraith opened the meeting with his usual flair and invited Carl Clark to offer the invocation and lead the pledge of allegiance to our flag. Visitors and guests were introduced: Ted Robson, Jack Garbaniro of Mystic, CT, Tonya Kahler, Duke Fennewald of Columbia, MO, Dan Bowser of Tempe, AZ, Calvin Cook of Durango, Clay Tucker of Durango, and Ron Fogelman of Durango.

GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE VISIT * The Israeli's will arrive May 26, will stay the 27th and 28th of May. District Governor Bill and Dorothy Tarpley will host POT LUCK at their home May 27th at 6:00 PM. Host families are John Beekman, John Marshall, and Bob Volger (back up). If you can also be a back up host, please call Tom. Perhaps one of the best ways to have world understanding and peace is the one to one contact with professionals from another country, from another race, from another religion * be involved!!!

Big THANKS Officer Friendly McGuire, the Police Department, Brian Meyers and his crew for the Safety Day efforts at Durango High School for he child seat installation, seat belt safety, vehicle rollover simulator, gun safety "Locks fo Life".

PROGRAM for this day presented by Russell Parker and Chuck Owens who brought students from Chuck's High School class "Youth Business Incubator Finalists".

Lauryn Lau and Miranda Montoya alternated in explaining the Summer Boutique "We make you smile about yourself".

Jason Johansen and Dustin Wanstrath alternated in describing their Adventure Tour Company (Mountain Bike Tours - guided).

Sam Beardsley, Ben Shisler, and Chase Salafina described their Cream Cycle Company (We keep you cool).

The entire class made business proposals, cost of operation, gross and net profit estimates, a business plan, long and short-term goals. Great Program, but we certainly need a working microphone.

Caring Committee for next Rotary year, chaired by Susan Sanders, will be Jill, Emil, Arvella, Wynn and Nancy. Susan's phone is 375-1707.

The Scholarship Committee chaired by David Brooks, will have winners chosen before long - good workfolks.
